This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks
Artist's Description
The streets of the old town in Hoi An, map out the shape of a whale or big fish. It may be a coincidence, or maybe something in the fates, but the whale is thought to be the protector of fishermen and will bring their spirits home should they die at sea. Whale worship is practiced all along the central and southern coast of Vietnam and in Nha Trang there is even a museum for the big man of the sea. This watercolour painting expresses everything I feel about the history, culture and spirit of this old town. Along the river is a poem.
About Bridget March
I am a story teller. My stories are about Vietnam and some of my favourite places back home in England and Scotland. Originally from Yorkshire, UK where I was a senior lecturer at Leeds University of the Arts. I moved to Vietnam in 2012 to become a full time artist. 6 years ago I opened March Gallery in the heart of the old town of Hoi An, a world heritage town in central Vietnam.
